Since 2001, the AWDF has been working for, by, and with African women to promote, support and amplify African women’s organising.

The Annual Ashden Awards are free to enter, and benefits for winners include a cash grant, access to funders, and a promotional film about their work. All finalists receive publicity and opportunities as part of the Ashden network.

This program is funded under the Google.org “SSA Women Entrepreneurship Programme’’ and is part of a continent-wide program running across Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa aimed at improving the digital and financial capability of female nano and micro business entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 55 years.

She Entrepreneurs is a leadership programme for highly motivated women entrepreneurs in the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye who are building sustainable and scalable businesses that contribute to driving social and/or environmental change.

The Young Founders Programme is a 6-month fellowship for outstanding young entrepreneurs from emerging markets. It brings together leaders from all over the world, who are united in the pursuit to achieve entrepreneurial greatness

The SME Growth Lab Africa (SGLAfrica) is a Digital Accelerator Program designed to empower business owners with digital skills, knowledge, mentorship and community events with the aim of transforming their businesses and driving economic growth.

The GAYA Small Grants Program aims to address key issues within the collection, analysis, and use of data on gender and youth within BHA’s development and emergency food security, resilience, and emergency response activities.

The FUTURE AFRICA CHALLENGE is a special project administered by the Future Africa Leaders Foundation to motivate and inspire creativity in young people within Africa and Africans in the diaspora to proffer innovative solutions to the challenges in Africa.

The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for sustainable development, funded by the Government of Japan, consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient. It was awarded for the first time by the Director-General of UNESCO in November 2015.

The East Africa Social Business Ecosystem Builders program, initiated by YY Ventures and Yunus Centre, aims to increase the capacity of the existing ecosystem builders in East Africa by giving them access to new knowledge, technical skills and network.
