The Seedstars Enhancing Women Entrepreneurship in Africa (EWEA) program is looking for applications from women-led small to medium-sized businesses across Africa, as well as community enablers and entrepreneurship support programs.
GrowthAfrica, Seedstars, and the AFAWA (Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa) Initiative collaborated on the EWEA initiative.
The EWEA initiative will provide WSMEs and community enablers in Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zambia with long-term and scalable capacity building, mentorship, finance, and visibility. This will be accomplished in partnership with the African Development Bank’s AFAWA initiative and GrowthAfrica.
Women business owners in Africa who want to participate in the program must meet the following criteria:
It is necessary to be located in Africa;
At least one woman should be a member of the initial team.
have a digital component in their product (for example, a mobile app, an online store, software as a service, etc.)
Demonstrate an interest in learning more about how to prepare for investment.
The EWEA program provides mentoring through the Seedstars network and access to the Seedstars Online Academy’s investment readiness training to women-led small to medium businesses.
Entrepreneurs and facilitators who are interested can register online before December 31, 2022.
