In collaboration with our private sector partners Fidelity Bank, Emergent Payments, Friesland Campina, Vivo Energy Ghana, Meridian Port Services (MPS), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and Allianz, MDF West Africa is implementing the Kingdom of the Netherlands’ Orange Corners initiative at the Ghana Innovation Hub in Accra and Our Regional Centers (Ho, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale).
The 6-month Orange Corners Ghana program offers access to workspace in the Ghana Innovation Hub in Accra as well as our regional training facilities in Ho, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale. There will be two stages to the January to June 2023 program.
- (three months) a business model-focused online component where teams participate in masterclasses, training courses, and peer-to-peer interactions.
Bootcamp for Phase 2 selection
- (three months) with the goal of applying for a growth loan (with the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) managed by our partner Fidelity Bank Ghana) up to EUR50,000 at 5% interest with a 2-year tenor, a smaller group of businesses will receive offline (in-person) workshops and individual coaching on financial management, leadership and HR strategies, and investment readiness.
Only a few companies will be given the opportunity to apply for OCIF.
CRITERIA
The founder of your registered, youth-led business must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
You must also be a resident of the application region (Accra, Ho, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale).
Your business must have been operating and generating revenue for over a year and be able to produce organized financials for at least one year (2022).
Finally, your business, products, or services must clearly innovate and have an impact along your business value chain.
The business should ideally have several employees; –
You are not currently enrolled in any other programs or competitions at the time of application.
You will be required to submit your business registration and compliance documents, Ghana card, and any other pertinent documentation needed for due diligence and authentication.
The company is preparing to accept a loan of up to EUR 50,000 at 5% interest for a 2-year term.
Businesses from all industries are encouraged to apply.
For the online program, businesses are required to cover their own data expenses, and they are also responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the approved training facilities for all in-person sessions.
More details will be sent to applicants through email in December, and the program’s online portion will launch in January.
March will see the boot camps (in Accra, Ho, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale), where you’ll need to bring your registration paperwork and your 2022 financials for analysis.
